Abstract:A new occurrence of pyrophanite (MnTiO3) in Greece is described from the garnetclinopyroxene-wollastonite exoskarn of western Kimmeria. Hostrock of the pyrophanite-bearing skarn is amphibolite (retrogressed eclogites) of the Nestos suture zone in the Rhodope massif.
