A New Strategy of Designing New Crystal Structures Based on Topological Structure: Syntheses and Crystal Structures of Five Coordination Polymers with (4,4) Topology

Abstract: Five coordination polymers 1−5 with four types of (4,4) layers have been synthesized through a new strategy of designing their crystal structures based on (4,4) topology.(5) are isomorphous and display similar structures to 1. (H 2 adc = 4,4′-azodibenzoic acid, ClH 2 adc = 3,3′-dichloro-4,4′azodibenzoic acid, bpp = 1,3-di(4-pyridyl)propane, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide). Luminescence properties and thermal stabilities of 1−5 have been explored.

“…Free ligand H 3 CAM exhibits a very weak emission. As it is known, the auxiliary ligand bpp display emissions at 417 nm ( λ ex = 310 nm) 26. Furthermore, with respect to emission peaks of the free bpp, the blue shift observed for 1 suggests that the coordination interaction between the ligands and metal atoms has a great influence on the fluorescence of the resulting compound.…”

[26] Furthermore, with respect to emission peaks of the free bpp, the blue shift observed for 1 suggests that the coordination interaction between the ligands and metal atoms has a great influence on the fluorescence of the resulting compound. The luminescence properties of mixed-ligand coordination polymers were investigated and found to be relatively complicated to assign their fluorescent emission served by several factors.…”

“…A similar search for 4,4 0 -azinodibenzoic acid and its salts returned 43 entries, including the structure of the simple acid (Yu & Liu, 2009). The dianion has been also used as linker to prepare MOF or coordination frameworks (see, for example, Hou et al, 2013, Zhang et al, 2016, Guo et al, 2013and Deng et al, 2015, and co-crystallized to give gelator salts or supramolecular assemblies (Beatty et al, 2002; Yu et al, 2011).…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5]. The resultant networks are highly dependent on the geometries and coordination environments of the metal centers and ligands [6][7][8][9][10]. In order to build unique structures, judicious selection of multifunctional organic ligands is an effective approach, and N-heterocyclic carboxylates, such as 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid [11,12], 3,4-pyridinedicarboxylic acid [13,14], and 2,3-dicarboxypyrazine [15,16] have been employed.…”
