A new tool to evaluate the impact of chronic urticaria on quality of life: chronic urticaria quality of life questionnaire (CU‐Q2oL)

Abstract: These results provide evidence that CU-Q(2)oL has specificity enough for being a valid tool for detecting the relative burden of CU on subjective wellbeing, and for obtaining a global evaluation both of CU impact and of treatments, taking into account the patient's point of view. The CU-Q(2)oL was easily and quickly filled up and well accepted by the patients.

“…We omitted the questions on interferences with physical activities and eating behaviour, difficulties in keeping concentration and feeling nervous. In the original article by Baiardini et al [4], these four questions did not show a statistically significant difference in patients who reported significant diminished symptoms. The questions on eye and lip swelling were combined to form a question on swelling.…”

“…The MMAS-8 has been demonstrated to have good concurrent and predictive validity and function as a screening tool in outpatient settings with different patient groups. The validated chronic urticaria quality of life questionnaire (CU-Q 2 oL) by Baiardini et al [4] with modifications was used to evaluate the impact of CU on QoL (Table 2). We omitted the questions on interferences with physical activities and eating behaviour, difficulties in keeping concentration and feeling nervous.…”

“…Среди общих опросников, которые применялись в изучении показателей качества жизни у пациентов с хронической крапивницей, -World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF) и Medical Outcomes Survey Short Form (SF-36). Но наиболее часто динамику качества жизни у пациентов с хронической крапивницей определяют с помощью специальных опросников Chronic Urticaria Quality of Life Questionnaire (CU-Q2oL) и Dermatology life Quality Index (DLQI) [37][38][39][40], которые переведены на мно-гие языки, даже имеются русскоязычные версии. Опрос-ник CU-Q2oL содержит 23 вопроса, которые объединены в 6 шкал (зуд, припухлость, влияние на качество повсе-дневной жизни, проблемы со сном, ограничения актив-ности, влияние на внешний вид); ответы оцениваются по 5-балльной шкале Ликерта.…”
