A novel method for fuzzy scale factors scheduling in fuzzy PD+I with anti-windup system controllers

Abstract: ABSTRACT:The adjustment of scale factors in fuzzy controllers is a key factor in their correct functioning. In two-inputs fuzzy PID controllers, such as fuzzy PI+D (FPI+D) and fuzzy PD+I (FPD+I), the adjustment of scale factors is directly related to the adjustment of the gains of a PID controller using some of the traditional methods of adjustment. In systems that have control signal saturation, fuzzy PID controllers require anti-windup systems (AW) that limit the controller's integral action. In these situat… Show more

“…At present, conventional PID controller is still wildly used in the control of industrial process according to it’s simplicity and high reliability (Mahmoodabadi et al, 2015). In order to solve the saturation problem that is caused by input constraints, an anti-windup compensator based on back-calculation method is added to integral part, as depicted in Figure 2 (Sartorius et al, 2016) . The control equation is obtained as follows…”

“…Regarding this estimation error an auxiliary adaptive sliding mode control is added to the ESO observer based-iPI controller. To deal with saturation that is caused by input constraints, an anti-windup compensator based on a back-calculation method is added into the integral part of PI controller, see Sartorius et al (2016). Moreover, the adaptive sliding mode control (ASMC) can ensure fast convergence and high tracking performance under load disturbance and parameter uncertainties, this due to integral sliding mode surface and fast reaching law with adaptive feedback gain.…”

“…The determination of the different gains in the different controllers used is often a difficult and complex process that requires a lot of calculations, moreover these calculations often lack accuracy, and sometimes researchers are forced to use the trial and error method to determine or modify them [11,12], so to avoid such problems we have used in this paper the PSO technique in order to achieve two important goals, the first is to ensure an optimal setting of the gains of the speed controllers, while the second one is to put all the controllers in a situation of equal and fair comparison.…”
