A Novel Multi-Objective Model for the Cold Chain Logistics Considering Multiple Effects

Abstract: This paper focuses on solving a problem of green location-routing with cold chain logistics (GLRPCCL). Considering the sustainable effects of the economy, environment, society, and cargos, we try to establish a multi-objective model to minimize the total cost, the full set of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the average waiting time, and the total quality degradation. Several practical demands were considered: heterogeneous fleet (HF), time windows (TW), simultaneous pickup and delivery (SPD), and a feature of … Show more

“…This relationship is important since the urban logistics has its market inconsistences and inefficiencies [8,12]. There is an urban logistics modelling gap [14] and many existing models seek to resolve the issues of externalities [20,24,25,27,28] with some being more and some less successful. The proposed urban logistics time efficiency model creates a relationship between N S that represents market demand for the number of shipments, and UL TE , Urban logistics time efficiency.…”

“…The model represents the basis for future analysis which will require more information and algorithm improvements. Qiu et al [27] have developed the GLRPCCL multi-objective model that minimizes the total cost, greenhouse gas emissions, average waiting time, and total decline in…”

“…To deliver products to customers as quickly as possible, most of the researchers combined these problems with VRPTW, and designed different models for specific problems. Qiu [3] integrated the delivery and pickup services in cold chain logistics, and established a multi-objective model with the goal to minimize the total cost and fuel consumption. Under the condition of uncertain demands, Zhang et al [4] studied the effects of customers' time window type and other factors on a distribution enterprise's choice, food quality, and pollutant emissions in cold chain logistics.…”

“…In contrast to Ukraine, all over the world, large specialized logistics companies are engaged in cold deliveries. In numerous works of foreign authors (see, for example, [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]), special attention is paid not only to optimizing the usual transport and operating costs during the operation of cold logistics networks, but also to minimizing the harmful environmental consequences that arise during its operation. Among the recent studies on cold logistics in Ukraine, we note the article of the authors [11], which proposes a solution to optimize the work of a small logistics company (dealing with cold supplies), taking into account the environmental component and the work [12][13][14], which studies cold logistics as one of the areas of work of a separate large logistics company.…”
