A Novel Position Sensor With a Conical Iron Core

Abstract: A novel position sensor is presented in this paper for pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders applications. Solid iron core with conical shape surrounded by axisymmetric coils is an essential part of the proposed position sensor. Axisymmetric coils are used for e xcitation and voltage measurements.
