A Novel Vible-Light Photodetector Based on Chlorophyll-Modified ZnO Nanoparticles

Abstract: Abstract-This paper reports a new material for visible-light detection based on chlorophyll-modified ZnO nanoparticles. ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized via a hydrothermal process. Chlorophyll was extracted from Katuk (Sauropus androgynus) leaves, an Indonesian vegetable which has many benefits for health. ZnO nanopartcles were mixed with the extracted chlorophyll, later to be formed into a film onto ITO coated glass substrate by the casting method. The hybrid chlorophyll-modified ZnO nanoparticle film was c… Show more

“…These plastidial pigments can be separated by the solvent extraction method using the polarity difference technique. 18 Firstly, 5 g of spinach leaves were taken and chopped into pieces. These small spinach pieces were then crushed with a mortar and pestle in the presence of 40 ml of 80% acetone and little bit of CaCO 3 .…”

“…In addition to organic semiconductor materials, other organic materials such as Rhodamine, phthalocyanine dyes, porphyrin, chlorophyll etc. also have been applied in PDs . For example, Xie et al designed a planar flexible photodetector with a bulk‐heterojunction architecture by spinning MAPbI 3 and Rhodamine B (RhB) precursor solutions on plastic substrate with interdigitated Au electrodes .…”
