The paper provides the analysis of current state of the problem related to the innovation activity in the education sector. The issue of students' innovation activity including the motivation factor is considered. The aim of the article is to identify the innovation activity peculiarities related to the college and university students. Moreover, the questionnaire is developed to conduct the survey with 412 learners covering the age from 16 up to 22 in different educational facilities. The article presents the research outcomes of the students' innovation activity coupled with their innovation activity level including their perception towards the innovation activity nature as well as the conditions influencing the activity. As the result of the survey conducted the students' involvement and the willingness to be engaged in the innovation activity is proved.
