“…In addition, several prognostic factors of poor OS were identified: a tumor diameter > 3 cm, tumor location in the right colon, multiple tumors, extrahepatic metastases pre-RFA, and intrahepatic recurrence. These concur with previously reported prognostic factors ( 6 , 13 , 41 43 ), except for intrahepatic recurrence; this may be the reason that these investigators did not conduct further analysis into the relationship between intrahepatic recurrence and OS. However, intrahepatic recurrence may indicate the presence of more tumor cells in the blood, resulting in poor OS.…”

“…This obviously helps to improve the clinical outcomes and safety of the treatment methods, which in turn leads to the expanded application of percutaneous ablation in the treatment of HCC. 18,[27][28][29] It is challenging, but also necessary, to keep abreast of these developments. The correct use of assistive technologies, equipment and image guidance methods under different ablative modalities will be essential for the optimal treatment results.…”

“…RFA has been considered to be a safe and effective method for patients with CRLM [19]. However, several limitations to RFA, including increased impedance at 100 C, limited and small effective heating zones, reduced carbonization and multiple antenna limitations, constrain its wide clinical application [20,21].…”
