The Fom-1 gene, originally identified in melon cultivar 'Doublon', confers high resistance to races 0 and 2, whereas the Fom-2 gene, originally identified in melon cultivar 'CM17187', confers high resistance to races 0 and 1 (Risser et al, 1976).
