A Proposed Order Prediction Methodology for Vendor-Managed Inventory System in FMCG Sector Based on Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets

Abstract: Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) is a supply chain coordination improvement system. Due to the vendor's responsibility for the replenishment decision, demand forecasting and quick response for retailers' demand fluctuations are crucial in a VMI system. Our study focuses on order prediction of the VMI for FMCG companies, which is multicriteria decision-making entailing to consider various quantitative and qualitative criteria in the fuzzy decision-making process. The interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIF… Show more

“…According to Arikunto [23], descriptive qualitative study is to collect data based on the factors influencing research objects, next it is analysed to identify the role of each factor. Demircan & Merden [24] adds that descriptive qualitative study is a term used in one of research methods which are descriptive. Descriptive qualitative study is intended to answer the research questions about what, who, how and where of an event that happens the following patterns which cause the events appearing.…”

“…Numerous scholars have put forward many theories on the foundation of intuitionistic fuzzy set theory: intuitionistic fuzzy ordered decision table, intuitionistic fuzzy neighborhood rough set model, etc. The intuitionistic fuzzy set theory has been extensively used in data classification [20,21], decision-making [22,23], attribute reduction [24], prediction [25,26], risk evaluation [27], and so on.…”
