Abstract: We report on a rare case of thumb polydactyly with metacarpophalangeal joint synostosis in a 14-year old otherwise healthy boy. Our case can only be classified in the Rotterdam classification, was treated with resection of the hypoplastic radial component and yielded a very satisfactory outcome with a stable thumb.
