“…According to this Census, a large number of these people are located in the country's northern region, with a greater concentration of women in urban areas and men in rural areas. Based on studies by Rocha et al (2020) and from IBGE, in the State of Tocantins there are eight ethnic groups: Karajá, Xambioá, Javaé, Xerente, Krahô, Krahô Kanela, Avá Canoeiros, and the Apinayé, with the latter located in the region surveyed by us (Tocantinópolis region, far north of that State).
