This study aims to identify the benefits of progressive muscle relaxation on the quality of life of the elderly. Methods Using literature reviews as a guide to finding research articles obtained from the internet using the Science Direct, PubMed, Google Scholar, Ebsco sites. Details of the search strategy for article eligibility using the PRISMA format (Identification, Screening, Eligibility, Included). Results From the analysis of 8 selected research articles, it shows that the method is to help reduce tension so that the body muscles relax. Progressive muscle relaxation aims to reduce anxiety, stress, muscle tension and difficulty sleeping. Relaxation is given once per day for 30 minutes for 4 weeks. From all the studies conducted, it shows the effectiveness in providing progressive muscle relaxation at different times and with different cases.
