A series of porous interpenetrating metal–organic frameworks based on fluorescent ligands for nitroaromatic explosive detection

Abstract: Four porous interpenetrated fluorescent MOFs based on π-electron-rich N-donor ligands can effectively detect nitroaromatic explosives and exhibit highly sensitive responses to 2,4,6-trinitrophenol.

“…Therefore, we performed the study of the photoluminescent properties of complex 1 together with HL organic ligand in the solid-state. As shown in Figure 7, the broad emission band at 433 nm was recorded for the HL organic molecule upon excitation at 365 nm; this is attributable to π* → π transition because of the π-conjugated effect of the aromatic group from the HL ligand [38]. Upon excitation at 365 nm, compound 1 shows similar broad photoluminescence emission at 442 nm.…”

“…Triangle rigid ligand play an importment role in the field for construction of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). As a triangle rigid ligand, 1,3,5-tris(pimidazol-ylphenyl)-benzene (TIPB) was used for construction of more than 20 reported structures [5][6][7][8][9][10]. However, as a similar triangle rigid ligand, there are only 3 structures related to 2,4,6-tris[4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]-1,3,5-triazine (TIPT) reported [11,12].…”

“…1,3,5-tris(pimidazol-ylphenyl)-benzene(TIPB) and 2,4,6-tris[4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]-1,3,5-triazine (TIPT) are triangle rigid ligands with terminal groups of imidazole. They were used for construction of more than 20 reported structures, concluding Co-based [13][14][15][16], Ni-based [16] and Cdbased [5,6,17,18] MOFs. However, to the best of our knowledge, Zn-based metal-organic framework constructed from TIPT has not been reported so far.…”
