A simplified relationship between the modified O-lattice and the rotation matrix for generating the coincidence site lattice of an arbitrary Bravais lattice system

Abstract: The coincidence site lattice (CSL) is important for characterizing the structure and energy state of grain boundaries in polycrystalline materials. A simplified relationship between the modified O-lattice and the corresponding rotation matrix is proposed to establish a general formula for the CSL and the near coincidence site lattice (NCSL) in Bravais lattice systems. The general formula paves the way to computer simulation and crystallographic analysis of grain boundaries.
