A Smart Monitoring System for Campus Using Zigbee Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: The wireless sensor networks are autonomous sensors that are distributed to monitor environmental and physical conditions and pass them across the network to other areas, which is considered one of the key elements that are used in the applications of smart cities. Therefore, this paper aims to provide a design to add more smart applications to the sanctuary and other compounds based on wireless sensor networks using ZigBee technology. The transition from reliance on the style of surveillance and controlled ma… Show more

“…Every day, the implementation of using WSN is rapidly increasing, and it will keep increasing in the next few years because of flexibilities and cost efficiencies [18]. The WSN is easily made for users to perform their job, such as collecting data, tracing a location and analysing information.…”

“…= G se + j.B se Equation ( 8) was then substituted in Equation ( 6) and ( 7). After done with equating their real and imaginary components, these four equations were performed in matrix notation as in (8). This means that the PMU measurements were breakdown into equation (9).…”

“…For real-time monitoring and data acquisition, SCS is utilized to form a wireless sensor network to incorporate all the sensors data. Wireless sensor networks have proved significant effectiveness in terms of reliability, security, and smart monitoring in the literature [8], [9]. Furthermore, SCS also provides scalability, and flexibility during real-time monitoring [10].…”

“…However, a common problem with this approach is the complexity associated with the computational process of sensor nodes criticality factor that is computed using logical network abridgment and the concept of graph theory. Although this step is required only once during the entire lifetime of WSNs, however, the computational complexity is very high which makes its realization questionable in a realistic environment of WSNs [17].…”
