“…In contrast to our findings, Bastos et al (23) illustrated that poor quality of sleep, and excessive daytime sleepiness were common and unrelated to the timing of dialysis. Our results were strengthened by Ajeebi et al (24) , who used KDQOL-36 scales to evaluate the QOL of HD patients and reported that patients under dialysis during morning shifts had better Mental and Kidney Disease Effect scores compared to night shifts. Nevertheless, these results are not consistent with our results as there was a significant difference between different shifts regarding physical component score, and no significant difference was found regarding the burden on the kidney.…”

“…When compared to data from the literature, Lebanese patients on hemodialysis reported acceptable to good quality of life on both physical and mental health components: mean scores on these two variables using the SF-36 were shown to be 55.1 and 67.6 compared to 49.4 and 38.7, respectively in a Saudi study using the same instrument [ 49 ]. Quality of life is an individual’s perception of their position in life with respect to their culture, value system, and relationship to life goals, expectations, and standards.…”

“…A study by Ajeebi and his colleagues showed that patients with advanced kidney failure could likely be unaware of the effects of chronic renal replacement therapy on their physical and mental health [ 42 ]. Following this school of thought, it is evident that kidney failure patients need chronic dialysis for a drastic lifestyle change [ 43 ].…”
