Abstract:Computer simulation using meso-scale meteorological model was executed and the effect of the re-allocation of urban activities on the thermal environment was estimated .In the case of vertical re-allocation in Tokyo 23 wards, it is found that centralization of urban activities largely decrease the temperature at near the ground surface because the anthropogenic heat is discharged at higher level . On the other hand, dispersion of urban activities raises the temperature of the area.
