Objective: Knowledge regarding oral health is an important component that improves the oral health and the overall health of an individual. Knowledge and creating awareness about the oral hygiene practices is the prime concern of Indian dental health profession. The purpose of the study is to know about the attitude, knowledge, awareness and maintenance of oral health among the dental students and associated members in the present COVID situation.
Methodology: A total of 460 dental students and 46 associated groups of VDC participated in this cross-sectional survey. Questionnaire of 12 Questions on attitude, knowledge & awareness regarding oral health & COVID-19prepared and distributed to obtain information from the participants through Google forms.
Results: Both the student’s population and associated group members of the institute are aware, knowledgeable and showed responsible attitude towards oral hygiene and its importance during pandemic. The lowest and highest percentage of participants responded to the survey were associate members of the dental institute (75%) and 1st and 4th year students of dental institute (90%).
Conclusion: The strict infection control protocols and orientation programs about the importance of oral hygiene during COVID-19 followed in the institution helped all the students and associated groups to be safer, healthier and responsible.
