“…Impairments of both social functioning (i.e. the ability to fulfil expected roles at work, social activities, and social relations with partners and family) (Long, Stansfeld, Davies, Crellin, & Moncrieff, 2022 ) and social cognition (i.e. the ability to decode the intentions and behaviours of others) (Green, 2016 ) are core features of PD and are thought to underlie severe functional disabilities (de Winter et al, 2021 ; Vita et al, 2022 ).…”

Research on finding the association between affecting SNPs on the development of pathobiology of psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder and formation and maintenance of couple romantic relationships could be helpful to pave the way to reveal the role of these variants in the sexual and emotional life of the population.…”

“…We included studies that addressed social functioning (SF) through questionnaire assessment or observer ratings of relationship functioning (e.g., number of close friends, psychosexual relationships); social behaviour in the milieu through observed behaviours in a specific social context (e.g., social behaviour on the ward); social problem solving , (e.g., ability to generate solutions in social situations); and social skills ( SS), (e.g., interaction abilities including conversation skills). Typically, social functioning and social behaviour in the milieu are based on ratings of real-world social behaviour, whereas social problem solving, and social skill are measures of social functional capacity that rely on task-based performance [ 6 , 42 ].…”
