A Tool for Generating Model Transformations By-Example in Multi-Agent Systems

Abstract: Many Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) methodologies incorporate a model-driven approach. Model Driven Engineering is based on three main ideas: models are the "first-class citizens", meta-models define modelling languages that are used to specify models and models are transformed during the development. However, model transformation is still a challenging issue in MAS. At first, MAS designers are not necessarily familiar with existing model transformation languages or tools. Secondly, existing tools for creating mode… Show more

“…The presented approach will also be further experienced by simulating the repercussions of the variations of certain internal parameters of the strategies on the final simulated outcomes. The current approach will include the principles of model-driven development with (1) an agentbased metamodel [26] for supporting trust modeling and (2) model transformations for supporting the systems generation from their models [27]. The presented tool is planned to be tested with SDN designers as users to detect design opportunities related to aspects such as (a) improving the usability of the tool, (b) including more functionalities, (c) adding new ways of presenting and analyzing the data, and (d) supporting more primitives for supporting the definition of trust strategies.…”

“…The development of transformations itself is usually a manual task, but there are some Model Transformation By-Example (MTBE) approaches (García-Magariño et al 2009). For M2M transformations, MTBE graphically defines the kind of change with prototype pairs of source and target models, and a tool generates the corresponding transformation in the target language.…”

“…The development of M2M transformations follows an MTBE approach using the MTGenerator tool 2 (García-Magariño et al 2009). The tool works with ECore (Moore et al 2004) modelling languages and the M2M transformation language ATL (Eclipse M2M Project 2011).…”

“…those that only involve models) with a Model Transformation by Example (MTBE) approach. MTBE [13] defines transformations through prototype pairs of source and target models compliant with certain metamodels. A MTBE tool processes these pairs and automatically generates the resulting transformation.…”
