A Topic-Based Bibliometric Analysis of Two Decades of Research on the Application of Technology in Classroom Dialogue

Abstract: With growing interest in technology and its application within education, an increasing volume of research literature concerning the utilisation of technology in classroom dialogue has become available. To provide a comprehensive overview of the research area, this paper reports the results of topic-based bibliometric analysis of relevant articles published from 1999 to 2018. Trends in articles and citations, productive institutions, countries/regions and journals are identified. Vital research intere… Show more

“…Soyoye said that in China, the research on the measurement of noncircular gears has used the double-sided meshing method, the single-sided whistle method, and the polar coordinate method for measurement [7]. Hao et al said that the biggest difference between the gear single-sided whistle method and the double-sided meshing method is whether the tested gear has backlash during the whistle-coupling transmission process [8]. Among them, the measurement method of gear single-sided congruence is to use two gears that are in contact with each other, one is the measured noncircular gear, and the other is an ideal and accurate standard cylindrical gear.…”

“…Of particular bearing to this study are findings that student search success is related to certain discursive practices (Knight & Mercer, 2015). This finding reflects a wider academic interest in the interaction between discourse and digital technology use (Hao, 2020;Major et al, 2018) including the extension of traditional concepts of conversation (Littleton & Mercer, 2013;Mercer et al, 2010;Wegerif, 2013). Several researchers have identified the possibility for digital technologies to not only influence discourse (Danby et al, 2013;Omland, 2020;Theolbald, 2015;Wegerif & Major, 2018), but to become participants in learning conversations (Craig et al, 2018;Davidson, 2020;Wegerif & Major, 2019).…”

“…This review was conducted using a bibliometric analysis. Literature reviews based on the bibliometric analysis have been widely conducted for various areas related to educational technologies, such as learning analytics (Phillips and Ozogul, 2020), classroom dialogue technologies (Hao et al, 2020), augmented reality (Arici et al, 2020), social media (Barrot, 2020) and mobile learning (Goksu, 2021). On smart education, there have also been two related reviews which adopted the bibliometric analysis (Chen et al, 2020c(Chen et al, , 2021.…”
