“…50±5GPa, 51±6GPa, 52±7GPa and 50±8GPa. Generally, the trend observed in composites containing NDs is similar to that reported in literature [3]: an increase in properties up to a certain quantity of NDs, followed by a decrease after further addition. The nanoreinforcements with different physical and chemical morphologies such as carbon nanotubes have shown a different set of properties in comparison to composites containing NDs with same loading fractions [4].…”

“…In most reports, PANI coatings have shown a good corrosion resistance under extreme corrosion conditions, which may be attributed to the increase of the shielding effect in the composite coating and the blunt layer formed by reversible redox reaction of PANI. Ramezanzadeh and Zhu have demonstrated the beneficial role of PANI on the corrosion protection performance improvement of organic coatings. , Because layered Si 3 N 4 is impermeable to water, oxygen, and ions diffusion, it can provide a good barrier as a result of their high surface area. However, low dimensional inorganic fillers with high surface area and small size are prone to agglomerate in coatings. Many studies have illustrated the effectiveness of surface modification of nanoparticles for active corrosion inhibition of the coating. , As an usual surface modifier, PANI possessed an anticorrosion property via restraining permeation of electrolytes and promoting the formation of passive film on the surface of metals . Although there were so many researches on Si 3 N 4 and PANI, to the best of our knowledge there have been no reports on using the synergistic effect of layered Si 3 N 4 and PANI to enhance the corrosion protection performance of ER composite coatings.…”
