A video on demand system architecture for heterogeneous Mobile Ad Hoc Networks for different devices

Abstract: this paper proposed new system architecture for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) on heterogeneous network to provide optimal Video on Demand (VoD) services to difference types of devices with optimal bandwidth utilization. And at the same time it will provide separate VoD services to different type of devices. and proposed a new conceptual model whereby a MANET node is possible to move through heterogeneous networks and infrastructures, there are also several nodes connected and receiving VOD services in differ… Show more

“…The previous proposed architecture (i.e. the VoD system architecture) in [2,[20][21][22], which provides two servers, namely, the GMF and LMF is presented in Figure 7. The LMF server is defined as a server, which is fortified through WiFi, while the GMF server is defined as a server, which is fortified with wireless network technology (e.g.…”

“…The forecast represents 75 % of the worldwide mobile data traffic, which will be consumed via the video by 2020 [1]. A video on demand (VoD) system over mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) is widely used in our daily life and needs certain particular quality of service (QoS) parameters to be conducted [2,3]. With the fast improvement of wireless networks, people enjoy working apart from their offices.…”

“…The new broadcasting protocol called Popularity Cushion Staggered Broadcasting (PCSB) Protocol for mobile VOD system guarantee the viewer's waiting time is less than that of previous methods. [34] As indicated in the Fig. 1, the main components of the proposed system architecture for the broadcasting techniques can be classified into five main categories: Central VOD Services Provider (CVSP), Local Media Forwarder (LMF), networks, mobile clients and broadcasting techniques.…”

“…The development of the wireless technology, for instance, IEEE 802.11 and the Bluetooth, has enabled a direct link between mobile customers even in the absence of a structured network, with the Internet and infrastructure depending on wireless local area network. In other words, customers can create mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) . This paper concentrates on a type of application that can be realized using MANETs and offers a mechanism to provide services of video on demand (VoD) to the mobile customers.…”
