A wet plasma scrubber for use in industrial pollution control

Abstract

In pollution control applications, the presence of water in the electrical discharge enhances oxidation of pollutants. We report the results of a discharge in gas when it flows through a heterogeneous mixture of water and dielectric pellets. The discharge is similar to a dielectric-barrier discharge with a mixture of water and dielectric beads. The electrical characteristics of such a discharge are discussed. We also report the results of removal of SOz with the wet reactor. The wet reactor was found to 5 times more efficient compared to the conventional dry reactors. WATER IN n GLASS BEADS OUTER ELEC7RODE
