A zero-one integer programming for preventive maintenance scheduling for electricity and distiller plants with production

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to describe a method that has been set up to schedule preventive maintenance (PM) tasks for power and water plants with all constraints such as production and maintenance. Design/methodology/approach The proposed methodology relies on the zero-one integer programming model that finds the maximum number of power and water units available in separate generating units. To verify this, the model was implemented and tested as a case study in Kuwait for the Cogeneration Station… Show more

“…For cogeneration systems, a panoply of optimization approaches varying from approximate to exact methods are available. Approximate approaches vary from simple heuristics, tabu search to genetic algorithms [12][13][14][16][17][18][19] whereas exact approaches are mostly integer programming based [20][21][22][23][24][25][26].…”

“…In addition, factories [15][16][17][18][19] that contain machines and devices used in industry need preventive maintenance. Moreover, oil companies and power stations apply PM for their equipment [20][21][22][23][24]. The purpose of the PMS function is clearly to contribute to achieving the goals of the organization, which, in turn, requires the need for practical maintenance to be consistent with the organization objective.…”

“…A realistic energy system was applied to verify the efficiency of the proposed analysis. Alhamad and Alhajri [24] addressed the problem of electricity and distiller plants with production using zero-one integer programming. Mollahassani-pour et al [40] focused on minimizing total operating and maintenance expenses for a power system using mixed integer programming.…”

“…El RBM tiene en cuenta los riesgos del sistema, no solo considera la probabilidad de ocurrencia de la falla sino también sus consecuencias [3]. Al combinar este análisis del riesgo con los requisitos financieros y los recursos humanos de la empresa distribuidora de energía, es posible priorizar los programas de mantenimiento y mejorar los resultados [5], [6].…”
