“…Thus, in heterozygous women with the C677T mutation in the MTHFR gene, it was found that there is an increased plasmatic Hcy level, as well as increased cytotoxicity of methotrexate [60]. These women were 2.6 times more likely to give birth to a child with Down syndrome than those without the mutation [35].
