Absorption Studies in Patients With Crohn's Disease and in Patients With Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract: Abstract. Absorption studies were carried out in 52 patients with Crohn's disease and in 25 patients with ulcerative colitis. Vitamin B12 in serum and folate in serum and whole blood were determined. Absorption of D‐xylose, fat and vitamin B12 were studied. The patients with Crohn's disease were divided into three groups with respect to the localization and extension of the lesions.
