“…Figure S12 shows the electrostatic potential (ESP) mapping of each monomer and guest molecule by simulating the changes in binding sites and binding forces of C 7 H 8 or CH 2 O with different HCPs . The value of ESP followed the color order of red < orange < yellow < green < blue, where the red region showed the highest electron density .…”

“…Figure S12 shows the electrostatic potential (ESP) mapping of each monomer and guest molecule by simulating the changes in binding sites and binding forces of C 7 H 8 or CH 2 O with different HCPs . The value of ESP followed the color order of red < orange < yellow < green < blue, where the red region showed the highest electron density . From Ben to BA and then to BDM molecules, the electron density of the Ben ring decreased gradually, continuously enhancing the π–π conjugation of Ben-SHCP, BA–DHCP, and BDM-DHCP toward C 7 H 8 molecules. , Besides, the increasing number of hydroxyl groups of the monomer also made the OH−π and O–H···O interaction of these samples to C 7 H 8 and CH 2 O molecules enhanced. , After partial substitution of Py blocks, new stronger N–H···O interaction appeared, again enhancing the binding force of N 0.1 /BDM-FDHCP to CH 2 O molecules .…”

“…Compared with traditional iron-containing nanoparticles, we synthesized the Shik-Fe NPs by a convenient, environmentally friendly, and efficient method. Moreover, both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria could adsorb Fe (III) and rapidly reduce Fe (III) to Fe (II), resulting in the formation of hydroxyl radicals to enhance bacteria-killing efficacy via a Fenton reaction . Deduced from these results, Shik can possibly combine with other transition group metal ions (such as silver, copper, and zinc), metal oxides, or photocatalytic materials (e.g., TiO 2 and ZrO 2 ) to explore the combinational antibacterial activity in the future.…”
