Intravascular Haemo1ysis.-If the patient survives the initial shock, the prognosis of renal failure following incompatible blood transfusion is reasonable unless the disease which necessitated transfusion is serious ; results in this group, treated conservatively (Bull et al, 1957 ;Lowe, 1960) or with the artificial kidney (Swann and Merrill, 1953 ;Bleumle et al, 1959 ;Parsons and McCracken, 1959 ;Kiley et al, 1960) are intermediate between those of the traumatic and obstetric groups.
