In distributed wireless mesh networks, highly reliable channels are typically preferred and thus suffer from heavy contentions; on the other hand, unreliable channels are often discarded, leading to bandwidth waste. Indeed, each node, in contributing to overall network performance, should balance between utilization on reliable channels and unreliable channels. Stability plays an important role, either on each node or the whole network. We propose a distributed Multi-phase Maximum Weighted Matching algorithm, making use of both reliable and un-reliable channels. We prove that the algorithm will achieve maximized overall network throughput with relatively high stability in a distributed manner. We also apply channel bundles to effectively improve stability in the network, and the problem proves to be N P -hard. The approximate ratio and complexity of the algorithm are also analyzed in a structural manner. The time complexity is 0(6 3 +(log" n) 2), and overhead complexity is 0(6 x (6+n)+n" +logn), with 6 denoting maximum number of node degree in a n nodes network. Simulation results show that p-stable design effectively improves network stability, especially upon the existence of large number of unreliable channels.

Location management plays an important role in guaranteeing the effective operation of Personal Communication services (PCS). In this paper a dynamic VLR (visitor location register) based location management is introduced for PCS networks. In this, MSC gathers the details about mobile terminals (MT) and performs location registration. This scheme is analytically examined for Omni directional movement of MTs and also it reduces the location management cost.

(2011). A new splitting-based displacement prediction approach for location-based services. In: IEEE international conference on systems, man, and cybernetics 2011. IEEE Xplore, 392-397. Abstract-In location-based services (LBSs), the service is provided based on the users' locations through location determination and mobility realization. Several location prediction models have been proposed to enhance and increase the relevance of the information retrieved by users of mobile information systems, but none of them studied the relationship between accuracy rate of prediction and the performance of the model in terms of consuming resources and constraints of mobile devices. Most of the current location prediction research is focused on generalized location models, where the geographic extent is divided into regular-shape cells. These models are not suitable for certain LBSs where the objectives are to compute and present on-road services. One such technique is the Prediction Location Model (PLM), which deals with inner cell structure. The PLM technique suffers from memory usage and poor accuracy. The main goal of this paper is to propose a new path prediction technique for Location-Based Services. The new approach is competitive and more efficient compared to PLM regarding measurements such as accuracy rate of location prediction and memory usage. Copyright and re-use policy
