Adherencia al tratamiento y calidad de vida en personas con infarto agudo de miocardio

Abstract: Objetivo: Identificar la asociación entre adherencia al tratamiento y calidad de vida relacionada con la salud (CVRS) en población con infarto agudo de miocardio (IAM). “…The study acknowledges that participating patients had high adherence with 96.1%, which does not coincide with that reported by other studies where adherence is lower; however, the study by Rojas and Flórez( 16 ) with 180 patients with acute myocardial infarction found that those with greater adherence were patients with less than two years (58%) or more than five years (63%) after the event and merely 2% of the patients who had between six months and one year were classified as adherent. Hence, it is necessary to bear in mind that this study was conducted only between three and four months after the medical discharge and the fact that the results obtained do not coincide with other investigations reporting deficient adherence to pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment, the following two reasons are submitted to discussion: the first are the differences in the sociodemographic characteristics and size of the sample implemented, which can affect the results; but above all, the second reason, considering that the factors related with adherence vary over the time transpired since the diagnosis, and with it the impact upon said adherence.…”

“…Contrario a los resultados positivos de autocuidado que realiza la población, los factores de riesgo como la hiperglucemia, sobrepeso, obesidad y tabaquismo siguen estando presentes como un peligro latente, lo que concuerda con otros estudios como el de Rojas-Reyes. 24 La magnitud del problema demanda la necesidad de analizar el impacto que causa esta enfermedad en la po-blación y las modificaciones realizadas en la vida de los pacientes, por esto las políticas propuestas por la OECD y OMS para la reducción de EC se basan principalmente en la modificación de estilos de vida de la persona, lo que implica llevar a la práctica autocuidado; materia con grandes áreas de oportunidad en cuestiones de educación hacia la población dado que los resultados arrojados indican que las personas no se apegan en todas sus dimensiones a estas actividades, ninguna cumple más del 80%. 3,5 Un punto a considerar es que la población menciona sentirse capaz de buscar mejores formas para cuidarse, en este sentido, la CVRS y la variable autocuidado muestra una correlación positiva con la dimensión capacidad de poder y capacidad de operacionalización, a la vez que el paciente pos IAM al realizar acciones a favor de su salud y tener el conocimiento de estas para poder llevarlas a cabo tiene una mejor CVRS, una pregunta que sería importante responder es: ¿si el sistema de salud puede proporcionarles la información y los medios para favorecerlo?…”
