Curing for 3 days at 40 °C results in a linear shrinkage of less than 1 mil/in., and this shrinkage does not increase during postcuring at 100 °C even though 17-24% of the original epoxy groups react during the 100 °C postcure. When the liquid epoxy compound is placed in a 100 °C oven and cured for 1 day at this temperature, it shrinks 8 mil/in. and no additional shrinkage occurs during 7 days at 100 °C.
