Adsorption and electrophysical properties of semiconductors of the InSb-CdS system

Abstract: Adsorption and the electrophysical properties (changes in electrical conductivity) of thin film solid solutions and binary components of the new InSb-CdS system are studied by means of piezoquartz microweighing, IR spectroscopy and probe compensation in the temperature range of 273-353 K and a range of adsorbate gas (NH 3 , NO 2 ) pressures of 0.2-9.8 Pa. The areas of physical and chemical adsorption accom panied by the charging of the (mostly positive) surface are determined. The mechanisms and regularities o… Show more

“…In recent years, cadmium sulfide (CdS) semiconductor has attracted attention for various applications because of its wide energy band gap (~2.42 eV), high transparency, high stability, n-type conductivity, emission tunability, high extinction coefficient, large dipole moment, and potential sensitization [1][2][3][4]. CdS thin films have been widely used as n-type buffer layers in high-efficiency Cu(In, Ga)Se 2 (CIGS) thin film solar cells with the structure of glass/Mo/CIGS/CdS/i-ZnO/ZnO:Al(AZO) [5][6][7], where the p-n junction is formed at the interface of CIGS/CdS.…”

“…Among other applications of the adsorption studies results gas analysis should be mentioned: because of the semiconductor adsorbent applications as basic measuring cell elements, it is important to know about mutual gas influence that has been repeatedly shown [7].…”
