Advances in aerodynamic, structural design and test technology of variable geometry turbines

Abstract: The variable geometry turbine is one of the technical means to effectively improve the part-load performance, part-load condition stability and manoeuvrability of gas turbines, aeroengines or even turbochargers. However, the design of the variable geometry turbine is very difficult, and the decrease in efficiency offsets some of the engine cycle benefits caused by turbine variable geometry. Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out research on variable geometry turbine technology so that the technology can … Show more

“…The recent research advances in aerodynamic, structural design and test technology of variable geometry turbines for marine gas turbines and turboshaft/turboprop aeroengines have been reviewed, and readers can refer to reference. 66 (1) A large number of low-dimensional loss prediction models play an important role in the rapid selection of early-stage turbine aerodynamic design plans, thereby laying the foundation for the fine design of throughflow and threedimensional blade. The current turbine design point loss prediction model is relatively mature, but in the off-design state, since the most important change is the change of the incidence angle of attack, there are multiple loss models that consider the incidence angle of attack correction.…”

“…E-kart is a rear-wheel motor-driven automobile without any suspension and differential [5,6]. In order to fit into a suitable space, the steering mechanism's synthesis aim is to minimize the difference between steering centres across the entire range of steering angle inputs [7]. Several competing needs should be taken into account at once in order to achieve the aim.…”
