Advisory system development for reliable FEM modelling in aerospace

Abstract: Purpose -This paper aims to describe the development of an advisory system that helps building sound finite element (FE) models from computer-aided design data, with actual uncertainty levels expressed by error values in per cent, as today there is no widely accepted tool for FE idealisation error control. Design/methodology/approach -The goal is to provide a computer-aided engineering (CAE) environment which assists the FE modelling phase. A demonstration program has been developed that leads the user through… Show more

“…In other fields, the research of IAES has been carried on, and the technology is more and more mature. In literature [2], Xinyu zhu introduces a Diagnostic Expert System for Hydraulic System of Aircraft Based on CLIPS, the system adopts the forward reasoning to build the basic structure and combined with fault tree knowledge and finite element analysis method to diagnosis and reasoning; In literature [3], Akio MIYOSHI, Genki YAGAWA research an interface agent system for CAE, according to human-computer interaction make the system know the analysis intent of user and gives the corresponding solutions; In literature [4], Laszlo Hetey, fames Campbell describe the development of an advisory system that helps build sound finite element (FE) models from computer-aided design date, introduce some development technologies and ideas about Intelligent Assisted System; Literature [5] present a vision of a knowledge-based system for more intelligent post-processing as a part of the optimization cycle leading to optimal solutions more efficiently. A series of literatures to provide feasibility ensure and technical reference for the development of CAE Intelligent Assisted System.…”

“…De acuerdo con estas características, se estudiarán con más detalle la transmisión de ruido de impactos y las transmisiones por flancos entre recintos adyacentes. Para los cálculos mediante el FEM, se utilizara el programa I-DEAS, ya utilizado en otras investigaciones en este campo (Braun et al 2002;Saarinen et al 2002;Dascotte 2004;Hetey 2009;Allemang et al 2012;Hetey et al 2015;Tager et al 2015).…”
