“…The models are very detailed and at the same time they differ significantly from each other. And, in both cases their authors are rather dissatisfied with the performance of the models when compared to data; data from ARTIST (Lind et al, 2011), POSEIDON (Dehbi et al, 2001), and from CIEMAT tests in PECA facility (Herranz et al, 1997). That is, the models fail to predict the high aerosol DFs in a flooded bundle of tubes and in many cases even the DFs in bare pools under jet regime conditions.…”

“…The existence of the tube bundle generates far more complicated flow patterns than those in the bare pools increasing the retention of aerosols in the flooded bundle as compared to the retention in bare pools. Farther up from the break, in the "rise zone" where the flow direction is mainly upwards, the scrubbing of aerosols in SG secondary is more closely approximated by values for scrubbing in bare pools (Dehbi et al, 2001). Even then, this is a conservative approach because the presence of the structures perturbs the flow far from the break zone so that the aerosol retention is higher even in the rise zone.…”

“…DF in gas jet injection conditions was measured. Dehbi et al [7] did an experiment in a low-subcooling pool under realistic accident conditions. It was pointed out that there was a large discrepancy of DF between the experiment and the analysis by BUSCA code.…”
