Good public transportation that can offer a pleasant peaceful and relaxing environment is necessary for improving people's interest in using it. Thermal comfort is determined in this study by measuring the air velocity and temperature of the air-conditioning from the outlet. Both data are taken using a digital anemometer and thermocouple with three replications for reproducibility. For data collection, a 10-row shuttle bus was held immobile for 30 minutes. According to the data, outlet 5 received the highest air velocity and the lowest temperature, at 9.12 ms-1 and 13.6 °C, respectively. It was also discovered that the design of the air-conditioning ducting impacts the reachability of cooled air to the farthest outlets, adversely affecting the target cool temperature and passenger comfortability. It is suggested that in order to promote the attractiveness of public transportation, the inner bus compartment and air-conditioning system in hot countries should prioritise thermal comfort.

The primacy of logistics, environmental sustainability, and institutions for sustainable development has attracted the attention of researchers and policymakers. However, the role of institutions in the logistics–environment relationship has not been documented in the extant literature. Thus, this study examined the role of institutional (governance) quality on the logistics–environment nexus and compared the case of developed and developing economies using a state-of-the-art econometrics technique—Chudik-Pesaran (2022) Augmented Anderson–Hsiao two-step Generalized Method of Moment estimator for dynamic short-T panels, which is superior to previously used techniques in the extant literature. Key empirical findings outline a positive elasticity of environmental performance with respect to logistic performance and revealed that institutional factors play a significant role in the association between logistics performance and environmental sustainability in both developed and developing economies. The study results are useful for practitioners and key players and policymakers in the supply chain and logistics management industry in both developing and developed blocs. Thus, policies on green logistics and environmental sustainability should be pursued in both blocs are suggested in the concluding section of this study.

Air-conditioning is a critical passenger comfort amenity on the Air-conditioned Indian Railways coaches. According to the data available, the Comfort Range (tolerance), and Comfort Zone (for FTA) are 23±1°C, ±5% RH, 23°C to 25°C all the time, anywhere and everywhere. The standard LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) and ICF (Integral Coach Factory) - 2A coaches’ compartments of the Indian Railways are taken into consideration for the simulations and heat load calculations are performed on the complete coach. The inside temperature of the coach was determined to be between 300 K and 303 K for LHB and ICF coaches respectively and the time required for the inlet air (294-296K) to reach the thermal comfort temperature (298K) of 25°C was recognized. It was found that the time taken to reach the comfort temperature in an ICF and LHB coach is 310 sec and 163 sec respectively. From heat load calculations it can be stated that the ICF coach has a TR of 7.4217 Tons while the LHB coach has 8.2 Tons.
