“…At the time of writing this manuscript, the genus Alcanivorax accommodates 16 species with validly published names (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/alcanivorax) and 15 genome sequences [3]. Most bacteria of Alcanivorax are isolated from the marine or haloalkaline environments, including deep sea, oil-polluted seawaters [4][5][6][7][8], shrimp cultivation pond [9], saline lake [10] and soda alkali-saline soil [11], and most of them have the capacity to utilize a variety of n-alkanes, playing significant roles in marine ecological restoration and the marine carbon cycle [4][5][6][7][8][9]. Members of the genus Alcanivorax are Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, motile or non-motile rods, and have the ability to degrade hydrocarbons [1,2].…”

Recently been isolated other species as A. marinus [16], A. xenomutans [17], A. gelatiniphagus [18], A. mobilis [19], A. nanhaiticus [20], A. indicus [21], A. profundi [22], A. sediminis [23], A. profundimaris [24], A. limicola [25], A. quisquiliarum [26] and A. xiamenensis [2].…”
