Alexander von Humboldts Pico del Teide‐Aufstieg als mediale Selbstinszenierung um 1800

Abstract: Die Studie analysiert Strategien der Selbstinszenierung in frühen Publikationen Alexander von Humboldts, die um 1800 in Form von für die Veröffentlichung bestimmten Briefen zu Beginn seiner Amerikareise erschienen sind. Humboldt platziert sie in einem halben Dutzend deutscher und französischer Wissenschafts‐ und Publikumszeitschriften.
