Algorithm for Design of Digital Notch Filter Using Simulation

Abstract: Abstract-a smooth waveform is generated of low frequency signal can be achieved through the Digital Notch Filter. Noise can be easily eliminated from a speech signal by using a Notch filter. In this paper the design of notch filter using MATLAB has been designed and implemented. The performance and characteristics of the filter has been shown in the waveform in the conclusion part of the paper.

“…This design starts with the transfer function of an analog filter, and then a mapping from s (Analog) to z (Digital) plane results in a general form for an IIR filter with an arbitrary number of poles and zeros Verma (2013) A digital filter can be characterized as a linear time invariant (LTI) discrete system by a constant coefficient difference equation Proakis and Monalakis (2002), Shenoi (2006)…”

“…Therefore, it is necessary to control only the output voltage by removing the 120 Hz component in order to improve the input current THD and to stably control the DC link voltage. Therefore, the 120 Hz ripple voltage was removed from the DC link voltage using a notch filter and was used as the feedback value of the voltage controller [11]. The DC link voltage controller output appears as a current command in the AC system and controls the AC current using a current controller.…”
