Alih Kode dan Campur Kode dalam Interaksi Sosial antara Penjual dan Pembeli

Abstract

This study aims to determine the forms and causing factors of code-switching and code-mixing between sellers and buyers in Kampung Kandang Bekasi. The method used in this study was a descriptive qualitative approach as the objects of the study, the conversation between the seller and the buyer happened naturally. The data collection technique used was recording, listening, and note-taking. The data analysis used in this research was data reduction and description. From the study, 11 conversations consisting of 5 code-switching conversations and 6 code-mixing conversations were found. The type of code-switching identified in the conversation was internal code-switching, while the type of code-mixing found was internal codemixing and hybrid code-mixing. The driving factors of code-switching in this study come from the speakers themselves and the third persons. Meanwhile, the causing factors of code-mixing are the limitations of the code owned by the speakers, the use of popular terms, presenting a third person, and the speakers' personality.
