Aliilewinella sediminis gen. nov. sp. nov., isolated from the coastal sediment, and reclassification of some Lewinella species as the members of the genus Alilewinella

Abstract: A Gram-negative, non-motile, aerobic, gliding, slender rod-shaped bacterium was isolated from the coastal sediment of Xiaoshi Island, Weihai, China. The newly isolated strain, designated W8T, grew at 15–37°C (optimum, 30°C) and pH 6.0–8.5 (optimum, pH 7.0–7.5) in the presence of 1.0–5.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 3.0%).
