Allosteric regulation within the highly interconnected structural scaffold of AraC/XylS homologs tolerates a wide range of amino acid changes

Abstract: To create bacterial transcription “circuits” for biotechnology, one approach is to recombine natural transcription factors, promoters, and operators.
