Alltagswirksamkeit kognitiver Verhaltenstherapie bei Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Angststörungen in einer Ausbildungsambulanz

Abstract: Significant reductions in both anxiety and comorbid symptoms were demonstrated over the course of cognitive-behavioral therapy of juvenile anxiety disorders in a university psychiatric outpatient clinic. The effect sizes for anxiety symptoms were found to be comparable to the effect sizes reported in RCTs. Similarly, clinically significant improvements were as frequent as the rates of remission of anxiety symptoms reported in RCTs.

“…Both consist of 33 items on a four-point Likert scale ranging from 0 (not at all) to 3 (especially) and have a total scale as well as four subscales (separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, social phobia and specific phobia) measuring anxiety disorders in accordance with DSM-IV. Good Cronbach’s alpha values for the overall scale have been reported for children and adolescents between 11 and 18 years of age and adolescent clinical samples [ 61 , 62 ]. In the current sample, values for Cronbach’s alpha of total-scale ranged between 0.877 (pretest) and 0.914 (posttest) for child-assessment.…”

“…The vast majority of cognitive-behavioural interventions in routine outpatient care, in contrast, employ family-based interventions as a key component [ 8 , 9 ]. The effectiveness of parental involvement in child psychiatric outpatient treatment has been demonstrated in several clinical trials with different patient populations, including children with Attention Deficit-/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD; [ 10 ]), Oppositional Defiant and Conduct Disorders (ODD/CD; [ 11 , 12 ]), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD; [ 13 ]) and emotional disorders like anxiety and depression [ 14 ].…”
