Health Sciences Higher Education is based on the presence of different social actors such as teachers, students, and patients. It requires increasingly more flexible teaching practices, promoting collaborative knowledge construction, in different and integrated learning scenarios, such as Virtual Learning Environments (VLE). The aim of this study was to analyze the use of the VLE "Vivências: experiences in illness and treatment" in health undergraduate courses, and to discuss the use of blog, wiki, glossary, and forum tools. It was a descriptive study based on information collected in the VLE's management page. The resources analyzed have demonstrated potentialities for collaborative knowledge construction, for promoting dialogue and interaction among participants, and for the production of participants' narratives based on their learning experiences. The study reinforced the interest in working with VLE to transform health science educational processes.
