Amino-decorated bis(pyrazolate) metal–organic frameworks for carbon dioxide capture and green conversion into cyclic carbonates

Abstract: The amino-tagged bis(pyrazolate) MOF Zn(BPZNH2) is an excellent CO2 adsorbent and CO2 epoxidation catalyst under green conditions.

“…3). 37 A similar mechanism has been proposed for zirconium MOFs [Zr 6 O 4 (OH) 4 (TzTz) 6 ]. This heterogeneous catalyst in the reaction of epoxides with CO 2 under mild and green conditions gave a conversion of 74% to the corresponding cyclic carbonate with a TOF of 12.3 mmol per mmol Zr per h. 38 As for Zn(BPZNH 2 ), the synergism of amine and Lewis acid sites in the UMCM-1-NH 2 increased the CO 2 conversion to 78% with high selectivity for propylene oxide.…”

“…To date, there are very limited reports aboutN i II -based MOFs with NH 2functionalized ligands. [22,23] We hypothesize that the coordination between nickel(II) and BDC-NH 2 prevents the formation of DMOFsunder solvothermal conditions.…”

“…71 Micro-mesoporous amino-decorated BPZ-based MOFs have been investigated as CO 2 capture material, CO 2 /N 2 Henry and IAST selectivity being 17 and 14, respectively. 72 [Zn (Bmic)(AT)], a MOF containing amino groups, uncoordinated carboxylates, and OMSs exhibits strong CO 2 adsorption with high adsorption enthalpy [ Fig. 4(a)].…”
