“…For instance, imidazole functional groups were introduced onto the surface of Matrimid® molecules using 1‐(3‐amino‐propyl)‐imidazole as the linker to strengthen their chemical compatibility with ZIF‐8 particles . Alternatively, two silane coupling agents, (3‐aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane (APTMS) and (3‐aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES), were used to alter the surface chemistry of ZIF‐8 particles to enhance the particle distribution and compatibility with the PES‐PEBA matrix . It was found that the APTES‐modified ZIF‐8 particles showed a better distribution in the composite membrane owing to the enhanced interaction between the ZIF‐8 surface and polymer chains.…”
