Abstract: BACKGROUNDSjögren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the exocrine glands, causing mainly symptoms such as xerophthalmia and xerostomia, besides extraglandular manifestations such as pneumopathies and neurological disorders.
